One of the keys to managing the psoriasis on my face is keeping it moisturized, especially during the dry, Winter months. There’s nothing I dread more than carefully washing and moisturizing my face in the evening only to wake up with dry, enflamed spots everywhere. Yet, I’ve struggled to find a moisturizer that is psoriasis friendly, lasts through the night, and is affordable, which is why I’m so excited to share this product review with you as my January favorite.
The Timewise Moisture Renewing Gel Mask feels absolutely amazing upon application and retains it’s soothing feel throughout the night. I received a full-sized tester at the Texas Women’s Conference and tried it that same night.
Masks don’t always work well for me, so I was a little skeptical, but the moisture renewing aspect was music to my ears. If you’ve ever used a mask that dried out your skin you know what I mean. With traditional masks, even if my pores came out clean, most of my face would just be red and irritated.
When I first opened the bottle, I was surprised to find a clear gel. Maybe “gel mask” on the bottle should have tipped me off, but for some reason I was expecting a traditional color or texture.
I wasn’t sure how much to apply initially, but I would suggest starting out with one area of your face and applying a thin layer. You’ll want full coverage like a mask. Don’t try to rub it in: just let it sit on the skin.
You won’t be able to see the mask, but you should feel it working. My skin felt cool, and I could immediately feel the moisturizing effect. It says that it can be worn overnight or washed off after a little while, so I’ve been using it through the night to get the maximum benefit and have been really pleased. My skin feels great in the morning!
If you decide to wear it through the night make sure that you wash your face thoroughly in the morning as there will still be some gel leftover. You might be able to wear it during the day, but the gel texture is a bit shiny, so I wouldn’t suggest it.
I’m a few weeks into using the mask, and I haven’t seen a very noticeable difference in my lines or pores, but my skin does feel healthier, smoother, and softer. Winter is one of the hardest times on my psoriasis, so it’s nice to have some relief.
The bottle is a good size, butI think I’ll still go through it fast. The price is $22 on the Mary Kay site, but it looks like its cheaper on Amazon. I don’t have a Mary Kay rep yet, so I’m not sure what the pricing would be through that avenue.
- Great for overnight wear
- Nice scent
- Good value
- Not suitable for day wear
- Little Pore/ Line Minimization
